Mallika Sherawat: I Fought Off My Attackers
Mallika Sherawat has spoken about the headline grabbing incident of her assault in Paris and the bold Bollywood actress maintains that she fought off her attackers
It was on Thursday night that news broke of Mallika Sherawat's
assault in Paris. The Bollywood actress and her partner Cyrille Auxenfans were
attacked by masked intruders in their Paris home who tear-gassed and assaulted
the duo.
According to Le Parisien, the French capital's daily newspaper,
the criminals wore scarves across their faces and "without saying a word,
sprayed their victims with tear gas before punching them. They then fled,
leaving a shocked Ms Sherawat and her friend to call the emergency
services." (Mallika Sherawat: I Fought Off My Attackers, Nov 19)
Now Mallika has opened up with her side of the story.
The 40-year-old who divides time between Mumbai, Los Angeles and Paris,
told CNN, “He (Cyrille) was hurt a little bit. We both fought them off. I’m not
going to let this change my life at all. I fought them off. They are strong men
but I didn’t just cower down.”
Without revealing further details, she told the news channel, “It was
extremely traumatic. No one should be made to suffer the insecurity of having
their home broken into or the physical and mental abuse of such an attack.”
While Mallika doesn’t know if she was targeted because of her celebrity
status or her race, she said, “They didn’t say anything. They didn’t utter one
word.”
This statement of the actress comes after several websites questioned
her claims, branding it a publicity stunt.
Just hours after the news broke, Mallika had posted pictures on social
media which did not show any signs of assault.
We wonder if her statement will quell the rumours...
